I was scheduled to have Desmond on May 21st via a c-section. But on the morning of May 5th, I woke up at 6am after a crazy dream dealing with dinosaurs, being underwater, salt and pepper shakers, and Mark Wahlberg because of a sharp punch like pain to the groin. I thought I had to use the bathroom and when I did I realized I was "leaking". It's normal to leak so I ignored it. I went back to bed but couldn't fall back to sleep. 30 mins later, I had the sensation to pee again. But when I stood up from bed
MY WATER BROKE! I woke Nick up saying, "Nick
my water broke!" and then had a contraction. He groggily got up saying, "Huh?
OH SHIT!!" and began running around the room. I asked him to wake Jena but not to scare her. He bursts into her room shouting, "JENA WAKE UP!! DESMOND'S COMING!!" And I shouted, "I said don't scare her!"
Even through my contractions, I still made it down the stairs and had Jena and Nick take care of our animals before we left. After getting into the car, Jena asks, "Dad
what did you say when you came into my room?" I had to laugh!
We got to the hospital at 7am at I was prepped for my surgery. The contractions were now about 5 minutes apart and coming stronger. By 8:11 I was in the operating room. The epidural scared me but it was nearly painless. I did get nausea and threw up a bit
but I felt so much better afterwards! By 8:30, Desmond arrived! I proceeded to cry my eyes out from happiness because the pain of 6 years consisting of 2 ectopic pregnancies and a miscarriage were worth it to hear and see the little boy I've been dreaming of! ♥
